Great Gatsby

This shoot was a couple of weeks ago. I specially styled this looks for attending the FGI Night of Stars Gala. I’m so honored to be in the fashion police this year with the Fashion Group International in Dallas.

Walking down the runway as a fashion police in front of 500 people was fun. I wish you were there with me to share the fun night :) Thank you FGI of Dallas board for the opportunity!!

Wearing: Lace beaded cloche hat (it was a gift from Neiman Marcus), Margeila body suit and Forever 21 black skirt underneath Junya Watanabe dress, Sue Gragg bracelet, Lanvin clutch, and Christian Louboutin pumps.

Fall Color Flash

When I wore this cape a couples months ago for Paris Fashion week, ELLE magazine commented: ‘Flashes of neon-yellow and fuchsia put a modern spin on the fall cape’. While Marie Claire commented on my outfit: ‘There are too many cool elements of this ensemble to count!’

The colors of this cape are so uplifting. It can really brighten up a gray sky and brings us a happy feeling.

Signature on my boots was Scott Schuman-The Sartorialist. I wore these boots to see him years ago when he was in Dallas for his book signing.

Wearing: Comme des Garcons cape, Madewell tee, The Row leggings, Proenza Schouler booties, vintage Chanel bag, DIY gloves, and bracelets from Hermes, Cartier, and Fenton Fallon.

Turks and Caicos Journal

Nine of us, my family and my nephews and nieces, had a lovely time in Turks & Caicos. One week living the island life was amazing as you’ve seen in some of the photos in the last two posts.

One day we took a seven hour adventure trip on the sea…

We were on board and excited for the adventure as much as my little girl was.Our first top was for snorkeling.

Conch hunting at southern tip of TCI. It’s three feet deep. I love the color contrast in this picture!

My little girl tried to pull out a live conch from his shell.

Time for lunch. Our boat moved on and stopped at Fort George for picnic. It was a perfect setting- so relaxing, island living. We had fresh conch ceviche and grilled lobsters.

A quick tour of Big Water Cay, then we stopped at Seashell beach where there is a ton of seashells along the shore.

Having Enough of seashells, we moved on to Little Water Cay on the other side of Seashell beach to look for Iguanas on Iguana island.

At Iguana island, watching the sunset was a joy.

At dusk, relaxing and enjoying ourselves while our dinner was being prepared.

Thank you everyone for visiting. I hope this post will inspire your travels.  xo…Hanh :)

Insta Turks and Caicos

These photos were taken by my Instagram @lifeintravel.  If you haven’t followed me on Instagram, I’d love to see you there and hope you enjoy my daily photo updates!

At Long Bay Beach.

I love the color contrast in the below pictures. It was taken while we were conch hunting at southern tip of TCI.

Peaceful scene at Bugaloo’s restaurant.

Sunset at Little Water Cay (Iguana island).

Island’s comfy chic outfit. This is called ‘packing light’-borrowed a shirt from my hubby to wear out for lunch and as a beach cover. Lunch at Da Conch Shack. I loved its atmosphere and the plantain fries were so yummy!

The pictures below were around Grace Bay beach.

Thank you everyone for visiting! Have a lovely day! xo…Hanh :)

First Impression

We just arrived in Turks and Caicos today.  It’s one of my favorite places for a beach vacation.  These pictures were taken today.  Can’t wait to have some fun here and I promise to take lots of pictures to share.

This was above the Turks and Caicos while we were landing.

Please, don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @lifeintravel for my daily pictures updated!

Happy weekend, everyone! xo…Hanh :)

Wallflower Remy

Last week I had the pleasure of working with such an amazing group of artists.  ”Trapped in the 60′s” was the theme of the photo-shoot.  Walking into Heather Lettieri’s grandmother’s house was just that!  It was beautiful and decked out in beautiful antiques and glassware.  Remy is such a beautiful Wallflower/ model.  Here is a black and white preview.  I can’t show too much because you will soon see more!

Photographer – Shayna Fontana, Model – Remy, MUA and Hair – Shane Monden, Wardrobe – Carlos Alonso-Parada.

I can’t wait to share more with you all!! xo

Cheap Sunglasses

“I bought these cheap sunglasses long ago while I was in Barcelona”.  Scot said that it reminds him of a song called “Cheap Sunglasses” by ZZ Top.  If you haven’t heard it, check it out.  It is a great tune.

In this look, I styled it with two different outerwears, Haider Ackermann suede jacket vs Isabel Marant ruffle vest.  Which one do you like more?

Wearing: Margiela bodysuit and necklace, Isabel Marant leather skirt and ruffle vest, Haider Ackermann suede jacket, Alaia booties, Christian Louboutin clutch, ‘Rock!’ ring designed by my little girl when she was 7.  Bracelets from Celine, Hermes, and a flea market in Paris.

Men Street Style

These pictures were from New York to Paris.  I like capturing men’s street style.  I love to see men dressing well.  Especially, men dressed in colors and with interesting elements.  I must say I should give them a bow for their confident.  Japanese men’s outfit seems very interesting- very Comme des Garcons, and that gets my attention.

The last two pictures are Guerre, a street style photographer for Marie Claire and his own fashion blog, Guerreims.com.  He is the best dressed photographer ever.  I love the way he dresses, it’s classic yet modern.

Hair Tuck in Style

I always have my hair tucked in when I wear this leather collar. It is an amazing piece to hide under my hair. It’s tres chic to tuck your hair under a scarf, a turtle neck sweater…not to mention it gives you a little bit more warmth, too.

This look is very urban chic, yet has a high fashion feeling. I just love the detail, the cut of these shoulders and the silhouette. Actually, I love all the elements in this look- so voguish.

My friend- Carlos’s puppy, Parker, he is so cute and wanted to say hi to my dear readers. :)

Wearing: Zara blouse, Rick Owens sweater, Elizabeth & James trousers, Sue Gragg leather collar, Nina Ricci sunnies, and Maison Martin Margiela crossbody bag (similar here).

McQueen Samurai Warrior

This Alexander McQueen Samurai Warrior is one of my favorites from his collection. The clutch shows where fashion meets culture, it made this so unique. I love the gold bead and sequin-embellished oriental embroidery. This clutch makes a dramatic focus for an avant-garde evening look.

In this look, I like the color combo of gold and cream. It makes an elegant color pairing.   The bright pink of the lipstick and watch was a nice soft touch. The color and the design of these shoes are very special, elegant yet edgy. They give you an imagination. My friend, Carlos, brought Parker out for the shoot.  Parker is so cute and he is the best model ever-really  knows how to pose in front the camera.

Wearing: Zara blouse, Alaia skirt, Givenchy blazer, Nina Ricci sunnies, Hermes watch and bracelet, Sue Gragg white gold bangles, vintage Monet necklace, and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.
