Summer in Oregon

Every summer, we have a chance to visit Portland, Oregon. It’s a perfect place for you to feel a chill weather during summer time, high about 75 F and low around 55-60 F. There are so many outdoor and fun activities here for you to do. Here are some highlights of my most recent trip to Oregon.

Hiking up to the top of Multnomah falls is a  must. The nature is gorgeous and the hike is awesome. The falls drop in two steps with total height of 620 feet (189m), and it’s the second tallest fall in the US.

When I’m in Portland, I love to start my day with hiking. There are so many nice hiking trails around Oregon. Here is another beautiful one called Horsetail trail.

We took a road trip to Timberline Lodge and hiked up to Mt.Hood.

Mt.Jefferson in the background and Timberline Lodge seen from halfway hiking up to the top of Mt.Hood. This hotel built in 1930s and it is noted in film for serving as the exterior of the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.

We walked up and down the fun street called NW 23rd. There are so many great, fun restaurants and shops on this street. My favorite place is Salt & Straw ice-cream store, the popular ice cream spot in Portland. They have many strange flavors as strawberry cilantro lime cheesecake, pear and blue cheese, caramel with salted dark chocolate….

Another fun store to visit while you’re on NW 23rd is Poplandia. It’s popcorn heaven. They serve delicious gourmet popcorn from the standard flavor Sea Salted Caramel and Double Cheesy to  unique flavors that are tasty, fresh, and very creative as Cool Watermelon Sorbet, Coconut Curry, Maple Bourbon Bacon and Cheddar Upon Caramel…

Merriman Vineyard in Yamhill county is beautiful. I always enjoy a private tour to this vineyard…Lol! Please, don’t tell anyone it’s my hubby’s vineyard :).

It was cloudy that day and we couldn’t see the Mt.Hood view, but it was such a beautiful sky.

Opposites Attract

How are you having fun with your looks for this season? Play with your pretty floral mix, spread your feeling in the season’s boldest hues, or make an impact in graphic black and white. I intended to pair this timeless shape and classic black and white graphic print dress with the contemporary feel of this checkmate graphic print clutch giving an unexpected styling and sending a message to avoid being conventional and predictable.

Wearing: Alaia dress (I was so happy to get it on sale for 50% off), Lanvin pumps, Nasty Gal clutch, Lanvin gold necklace styled underneath Beavaldes necklace. Rings from Urban Outfitters, Jennie Kwon Designs.

Fun In The Sun

I had a lot of fun doing this shoot. The summer heat in Dallas was intense, and that kept me in the mood to keep things simple in pure white with ankle-strap sandal heels, calling just enough attention to those legs. The clutch completes the look with great color contrast. And that water fountain truly refreshed me.

Wearing: blouse and skirt are from Palmer//Harding (they’re an inspirational men’s and women’s clothing line), Yves Saint Laurent heels, Lanvin necklace, Cartier Love bracelet. Rings from Bijules, Urban Outfitters, and a big thank  you to Jennie Kwon Designs for the black equilibrium cuff ring. I love it so much, it is a perfect ring for layering.

Borough Market, London

Borough market is one of my absolute favorite places in all of London! Thank you to my friend Levi Palmer who is a designer for Palmer//Harding clothing line who introduced me to this market. Borough Market is a great place to visit for anyone interested in food. The Market is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. You can find amazing products here, great range of cheese, bread, fresh meat, variety of fruit and vegetable, bakery products, fresh flowers…. Nice street food from different cuisines as Indian, Chinese, Spanish, Greek…(you name it) are outstanding. Tasting some of the free samples from various stands was fun, and the food was so fresh and delicious.

If you travel to London, you must visit this market. It is located on Southwark Street and Borough High Street just south of Southwark Cathedral on the southern end of London Bridge.  The market is one of the largest and oldest food markets in London. It was first mentioned in 1276, although the market itself claims to have existed since 1014. Amazing market! I will definitely visit this market again.

Have a wonderful day to all! xo…Hanh :)
