Bergdorf Goodman Windows

Every time I have a chance to visit New York city, I always to make sure I visit Bergdorf Goodman.  It’s not only because what merchandise is inside the store, but also because their windows.  They always have impressive windows to admire.  It’s very inspirational.  I wish I had a chance to decorate their windows one day.  Who knows! My dream might come true.  Anything is possible in America, we call it the ‘American Dream’. :)

I hope you enjoy BGwindows  as much as I do.  Have a lovely day to you all! xo…Hanh :)

New York Trip Diary

I had the best New York trip for fashion week ever. Although, I didn’t attend many shows-just Doo.Ri and Thakoon but I enjoyed my trip so much. My kids had no school, so they were able to come along with me. It was our first girls’ trip, and we had an amazing time, filled with tons of sweet memories to last a lifetime. Not only being with my kids, but also to be with my great friends, Jason and Lucrecia. Lucrecia was the sweetest roommate ever. I was really enjoying my time with her; shopping, talking, sharing, chatting, dining…I wish she lived here!!! Another great thing of this trip was that we stayed at The Plaza Hotel New York for the first time for my kids. They wanted the feeling like Kevin had in “Home Alone.” The hotel has a timeless elegance, one of New York city’s finest, a place for celebrities, and a beautiful backdrop for so many famous movies.
Yes, I’m always thankful for my life and feel so blessed.
Here are our New York trip photo diary.
Waiting at the airport. My big girl looked instantly chic with a Lanvin Ipad cover and so cool with F21 jacket (similar here).

Cutest little girl. She had on Custo Barcelona Kids jacket, Justice hat.
My big girl borrowed my Balenciaga boots for the trip and wanted to borrow them forever. Lol!!!
I was ready for my dinner with Lucrecia and Jason. I had the great time!!
Wearing: Celine shearling jacket and bag, Virginia Johnson scarf, the Row leather leggings.

And paired this look with Raphael Young wings pumps.

I love Lucrecia’s new retro handset for Iphone and her ‘hijab‘ style.

Spot this guy at Open Ceremony with layers of bracelets and rings on.

Oh, yay!! The plaza.

The view of 5th Avenue and 58th Street / 59th Street from our room.

Final walk at Thakoon fall 2012 show at The Plaza’s ballroom.

Final walk at Doo.Ri fall 2012 at Eyebeam Art Center.

Time for window shopping.

Giuseppe Zanotti (similar here)
The kid’s activities. They enjoyed shopping at H&M Kids, F21 Kids, FAO Schwarz toy store, Apple store, riding in the horse carriage, and rollerblading in Central Park (believe or not, they packed their own roller-blades)…..
The kids had a great time at the Met museum with a Scavenger Hunt program; a fun way for kids to explore the museum.

At Nola studio. Before attending Mary Poppins musical Broadway show. The kids had a chance to learn to sing songs and dance with Tom Souhrada; one of the cast members.

They enjoyed making hand-made paper from fiber.
This is how the paper looks after adding colors and creation.

The Year of the Water Dragon

Following Lunar calendar, this year is the year of the Water Dragon. In many Eastern countries as China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam…, dragon is a symbol of power, strength, and good luck. And years of the dragon are always a popular one for anyone getting married, staring a business, or having a child. Dragon years bring luck and vim.
May this Dragon year brings you a year full of love, peace, happiness, health, great friends, great fortune!!
I shared this cutest postcard before and I’d like to share it again because of the Lunar New Year celebration. It’s perfect postcard for this!! It’s so sweet of Nathalie, from Hanna Bernhard jewelry line, to do this collage. Thank you Nathalie!

Wearing: Hanna Bernhard custom-made dragon necklace, and Hanna Bernhard custom-made Japanese lucky cat necklace.

Random

We had an amazing Easter Sunday. I hope you had an amazing day too!
Here is our little Easter garden that the kids decorated. Oh! Easter bunny and his egg…so cute!

Thank you Easter bunny for dropping us a few presents at our Easter garden. You’re always so kind and sweet to the children.

After Easter egg hunting, we played Mexican confetti eggs. Following Mexican tradition, Easter confetti eggs are often broken over someone’s head as a symbol of good luck. It’s a part of the holiday celebration.

We were ready for racing the flying paper air-planes.

Time for sweet.

3pm snack time: we all enjoyed our red velvet cake and berries smoothie while watching the Home Alone movie. YUM!!!

The kids were playing bubble blowing while the adults were chatting and grilling some meat for dinner.

Look at this one! It’s the coolest bubble ever!

“Mama, I’m getting good at blowing bubblegum” 😀

Cute little baby!

Time for dinner 😀
Apple, grape, dried cranberry, and arugula salad with balsamic vinaigrette is one of my favorite salads that it’s easy to prepare at home.

Grilled lamb, chicken, and rose wine.

Berries pie for dessert.

Have a wonderful day to you all!! xoxo…Hanh:)

Artistic Mind

My little girl loves art; drawing, painting, designing clothing for her doll or for herself. She can do things like that all day without complaining.
This is her sketch for her dress when she was 4 years old. Her first time to design clothes. She actually picked out her own color and fabric. Grandma was the one to sew the dress for her.

She was in her dress for her 6 year old birthday.
She takes advantage of wherever she can draw or paint, whether at a swimming pool or at the airport while we’re waiting for our flight, or in the air plane…

This is her self portrait when she was 6 years old.

She just turned 7 last month and this is her recent design for her doll’s clothes. She wanted exactly the color and the sketch as shown on the right.

This is her dog that she wished for when she was 4 years old.

This is her drawing for Halloween this year.

This is my favorite one. She recently drew it for Thanksgiving.

My big girl doesn’t like art that much. But whenever she does arts or crafts, she includes details and does a great job. This is her Turkey. She has a scientific mind.

Thank you everyone for visiting!!! Have a wonderful day!!! and…
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

CoCo Chanel and Igor Stravinsky

Two weeks ago my husband and I went to see the movie, CoCo Chanel and Igor Stravinsky. I was excited because it’s something about mademoiselle Chanel, and my husband was excited because of Stravinsky, one of his favorite composers. The film examines the relationship between designer Coco Chanel and composer Igor Stravinsky, two of the most influential and creative figures of the last century. Chanel is the aggressor in the short-lived affair of which little is known, that began in 1920, seven years after she attended the world premiere of Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring”, as choreographed by Nijinsky and performed by the Ballets Russes. That notorious opening, May 29, 1913, at the Theatre des Champ-Elysees in Paris gathered storm clouds over the orchestra pit and shook the music world. The Audience was hissing and shouting at the stage. You are witnessing an audience’s reaction to the coming of the 20th century. The rest of the film deals with the love affair of the two. It’s an intense look at love, lust, passion and the heartbreak of his ill wife, Catherine. It’s a 2009 French film directed by Jan Kounen, and has been showing in America theaters. I highly recommended that you see it with your partner. It’s great!

This is what I wore for the movie: Madewell t-shirt, Alexander Wang shorts. It was so tempting to buy these shorts because it was on a great sale at Barneys online and they had only one left in my size.
I always bring light jacket or sweater with me when I go to see a movie because it’s always cold in the theater. Junya Watanabe jacket was also on sale at Barneys.
To Garance Dore, this kind of short is to wear with flats and “don’t try them with heels”. As you know, I like to take risk and have fun with fashion. So, I went for heels; actually, Rodarte ankle boots. I’m petite enough to do it, I think. To be honest, I don’t feel comfy to wear this kind of shorts to go out alone or go out with my girlfriends because I don’t want to give a wrong message. But, I do feel comfy to wear them whenever I’m with my husband 😉
I purchased this Chanel necklace when I was in Paris past April.
Thank you everyone for visiting and your comments! Wishing you all a fabulous day!! kisses…Hanh 😉
