Sweet Look

Feeling like dressing up and spending Good Friday with my girls. I normally don’t dress up like this when I’m with my kids, but once in awhile it’s fun. We had an amazing time. We especially enjoyed the nails spa time. They behaved like elegant ladies. It was like a growing up experience for my kids…Baking cookies for Easter Bunny was one of the best parts, and flying the paper air-planes was also a blast…Family happy time!!
Anyway, this outfit with the Christopher Ross rabbit buckle belt is perfect for Easter. Oh! my blue nail polish! It’s a lovely bright blue; OPI Ogre-the-top-blue. I love the fact that it’s so deep and reminds me of the ocean or the pool. It’s a great color for spring and summer. I’ve enjoyed it as much as the yellow nail polish.

Veiling

Yes, I adore this top; Maison Martin Margiela. You can see that I had too much fun playing with it. It’s definitely one of my favorite pieces in my closet. This Fleet Ilya belt is perfect to complement the look.

Hippie me

The Colorful cloth bracelet is a gift from my friend, Melissa! I adore it.
Believe it or not, I love to cruise around the Free People website or turn pages of their catalog to see photos of young ladies in hippie casual folksy clothing with beads, hair braided, and headbands…Yes, they look like very free spirits. Here I am; Free People inspiration! I looked kinda hippie in this Free People black dress which I purchased it so long ago, but with a fancy pair of Christian Louboutin – Lady Daf platform mary jane pumps; a twist of fancy. I also gave the look a touch of edginess with an Ivan Grundahl belt. As you know, I like playing with my pieces and making an adventure of fashion.

Christopher Ross Dragon Belt Buckle

I hope you all are doing well. For me, not so good :( I’m still recovering from the flu. This afternoon, I felt that I needed to get up and do something with my blog and I’m sorry about my lack of posts.
Here is my Christopher Ross Dragon belt buckle which I’ve been wanting for a long time. Over a month ago, I was finally lucky enough to find one on eBay, and it was a great deal. I was so happy.

I paired the belt with McQueen dress. I will share with you the whole outfit when I get well.

Gareth Pugh Leather Scarf

This outfit was my favorite outfit of the month; November. I actually wore it so many times in the last four weeks. Two weeks ago, I finally managed to take pictures of it, but I didn’t have a chance to share it before we went on our trip to California. I will see you in Dallas tomorrow. Here is the outfit:

Balenciaga jacket was over 2 years ago, from consignment store INA in NYC.

This is my coolest scarf in my closet; Gareth Pugh leather scarf which I purchased sometime long ago. I’ve gotten tons of compliments whenever I wear it. I styled it with Proenza top, Madewell jeans, Alaia heeled-hiking boots.

IDEA TIP for DIY this scarf: you could find a nice piece of leather, faux leather, or suede, or fabric which is medium weight and still gives a good permanent raw edge. It is about 3 yards 12 inches long and about 13 inches wide (or whatever size you like). Then, use a chalk to draw and cut out the pattern as it shows in the pictures above. The last thing you need is your time and be patient…At least, you don’t have to sew ;)

Under the Sea

Since I got back home from Paris. I’ve been inspired to post, post, post…I’m busy but I’ve worked out my schedule to make time for blogging :) I’m a seafood person. I love fish, prawn, lobster, crab, clam..etc…The only time that I ate lots of meat was when I was pregnant with my two kids. Yes, my brain was telling me that I hated seafood. Especially, FISH that I couldn’t stand for its smell.

Here are some pictures of seafood dishes that I’ve captured through my travel.
At Hiramatsu restaurant in Paris, 52 rue de Longchamp: white fish with green apple, pear, and red bell pepper.
Pasta with clam sauteed in butter sauce, at Aurora in Dallas. Now, it is Nosh; a Euro bistro style restaurant on 4216 Oak Lawn Avenue.Fresh langoustine with tabbouleh at Faventia restaurant at the Four Seasons Resort Provence.Sardines and caviar tomatoes salad, also at Faventia.Rare grilled toro (fatty tuna belly) at Nobu in Dallas, 400 Crescent Court. Now, NOT Under the Sea :)

Last Season…

While I organized my picture file, I found these pictures which were taken during the past summer. It was the time that I found great Christopher Ross belts on eBay at great price. My Christopher Ross belt collection has expanded large since last time that I shared with you my first butterfly C Ross belt . I’ll probably take pictures of the collection to share here sometime soon.

Packing For a Long Trip

First, I want to say a big thank you to my brother and Marcia who have moved in to stay at our house when we’re on vacation to take care the house and our puppies.We’re very excited for our trip to Paris, Provence, France and to Portland, and Seattle. The kids are excited too! I can’t wait to show them Paris, Provence and of course Seattle. It’s their first time to visit these cities. This will be a long trip (almost a month) and I should be ready for a lot of energy to travel and take care of my kids at the same time. Light packing for four people is not easy. We always pack clothing that can mix and match. Usually, we don’t like to travel with much luggage.

Here are a few dressy clothes for my kids. I also packed along some comfy, casual and cute clothes for the them. Of course, their clothes are from Crewcuts. They have adorable stuff for kids from clothing, shoes, jewelry…ect..
And here is my dressy clothing. The same for me, I packed along some comfy, casual yet chic clothes.

Four pairs of shoes and one pair of tennis shoes. Alaia ankle boots, Alexander Wang leopard wedges, Balenciaga sandals, and doub studded clog by Jeffrey Campbell. These clogs are 4″ high, 2″ platform. They’re super comfy and light and available now at Freepeople.com . I plan to wear these clogs a lot on this trip. Alaia boots are very comfy too, but I don’t want to wear them out. Oh! forgot..need to have one pair of flats. See! it’s always a good idea to pack your stuff in advance to avoid forgetting things at home.

Then, when I saw it again at Vintage Marini with such a great deal compared with its original price, I was so happy to bring it home. But, to my husband I looked like a mental patient who just got out of the hospital :(

Christopher Ross Belt : Gold Butterfly Buckle

Recently I’ve become interested in vintage jewelry and belts. Especially Christopher Ross’s belts. He is a native of New York city, and has been sculpting belt buckles since the 1970s. His design is genius. His belt is not just a simple belt, but it is a fabulous statement. Judy Aldridge is so right when she says that they are “addictive”. I’m an example of this addiction. This is my first Christopher Ross belt and I’m thirsty for more…I purchased this belt from Judy- Thank you !! I love it!

I love flowers. I like to take pictures of them, both naturally outdoor and arranged.
The roses. For some reason, I love pink more than red.

Peonies. Although, they are faux, but they’re good quality silk.
