Poncho Inspiration

Don’t you think this Isabel Marant hooded poncho is kinda Chanel?! That’s why I thought it would be fun to style it with them. The open sides with braided side ties and self-fringe edges give this poncho a fun, flirty element. With the light- weight  virgin-wool blend and its colors: ivory, black and grey, it allows for easy layering/un-layering throughout the seasons. I couldn’t imagine how sexy it would be to style it with shorts and a simple tank or a bralette top.

Wearing: Isabel Marant poncho, Nhakhanh thumb-holed top, Urban Outfitter leggings, Prada booties, Sue Gragg ring, Chanel necklaces and bag.

Styling by me.

I enjoy pairing leather bracelets. They definitely give you a bold, edgy look.  This is my 101 ways to wear a bracelet. Don’t be afraid to stack them up; it only makes the look more individual. Mix and match is key, and don’t make it too busy. Start with one, and go from there. Bracelets are meant to give you extra attitude, and add statement to your wrist.

I like mixing high-low fashion. Wearing: random bracelet from vintage, Madewell, Urban Outfitters, Hermes, Cartier, Stella McCartney, The Woods, Mcqueen, Celine, Balenciaga, and bracelets from souvenir stores from traveling.

Have a wonderful day! xo…Hanh :)

Lincoln Center, New York Fashion Week

I intended to style this look in an apricot-orange color with an unexpected touch of blue.  I wanted to send a message that we shouldn’t be afraid to mix warm and cool hue colors. Fashion is only limited by your imagination, and so let’s avoid being conventional and predictable.

Wearing: Maison Martin Margiela dress, Rick Owens jacket, Charlotte Olympia pumps and clutch, Nina Ricci sunnies, The Woods ring, and hat from Lola Hats.

Wrist Rainbow

Don’t be afraid to mix materials; it only makes the look more individual.  I like seeing the blend of textures-braids tangle with beads, semiprecious stones, pave’ diamonds, and simple rope. It’s the same thing with colors; gold mixed with silver, rainbow it up. Start with one, and go from there. Bracelets are meant to give you extra attitude, and add statement to your wrist.

Wearing: random bracelet from Gap, Hermes, Tai, Holst + Lee, The Woods, Fenton Fallon, Madewell, Stella McCartney. You can find  similar here and here.

Most of my pictures here from my Instagram, make sure follow me on Instagram @lifeintravel for instance daily picture updates!

HOLST + LEE Jewelry

Here are a few shot details of my outfit that I’m wearing for my post coming up. Rebecca Minkoff handbag, HOLST + LEE bracelet.

Rochelle Lee.

When I was in New York city, I was lucky to run into Natalie Holst, one of designers for HOLST + LEE  jewelry line. HOLST+LEE is a New York based fashion collaboration between Natalie Holst and Rochelle Lee. They’re both from the south and moved to New York. I had talked to Rochelle and she is from Austin, TX. They’re both young and talented ladies. I’m absolutely in love with their jewelry line-beautiful colors, all handmade, and unique.  Another cool thing that I like their designs is that the clasp is a magnet, so you also connects to another bracelet to became a choker. Click here to learn more about their line. Here are my favorite pieces from HOLST + LEE, please click on the following links to view- here, here, here, and here. Or you could click on my ‘Currently Obsessed’ page on your right hand-side panel to see more.

The idea of this contest is just for fun and of course getting inspiration. This red MMMargiela sweater was from last year. I’ve worn it alot, but I had no chance to share it until now. It’s also very sexy to style it with shorts and a pair of any length boots, especially with thigh high boots.
And these Row leggings are absolutely a GREAT investment piece. I’ve been wearing them countless times in every fall/winter season and its quality is the best. Here are the links that you can find them, very similar to mine, click here or here.

“Rock!” ring designed by my little girl last year when she was 7.
McQueen boots. You can find them here for 30% off (they run a little big).

MMMargiela clutch. (resemblance here)

Sue Gragg necklace.

Color Splash, Part 2: Vivid Orange

I’m obsessed with the color of this Celine bag. This strikingly vivid orange is so uplifting, yet. it’s surely brightens the gray winter sky and brings us to a different level of energy-a strong feeling for this fall/winter season.
Balenciaga is always on my A list of my favorite designs. And this top….Its asymmetrical design, the sculpted neckline, the surprising shimmer gold underneath, its chic, edginess, bold, and so modern…made this top so different; simply drop dead gorgeous! I’m in love!
Wearing with NhaKhanh thumb hole black mesh top, Nina Ricci sunglasses.

These J Brand jeans are over 5 years old. Every time, I wear them and realize how much I love them! They’re a great investment piece. I’m glad that they brought this design back and the jeans are being sold again at Barneys CO-OP.

I found this silver bracelet, designed by Audrey Savransky who has created AS29 line, at Colette store in Paris this summer. I was looking for a perfect designed dragon bracelet for years, and I was so happy to find it. If you look at its details and its proportions are just magnificent. I absolutely adore it! My dream! :)

Another way I paired these jeans with different fabulous tops in my old post in the past spring, click here, if you wish :-) It was definitely another one of my favorite outfits.
Thank you everyone for reading and have a lovely day! xo…Hanh :)

A Postcard from China

Weeks ago, I got this postcard in my email from my sweet friend, Nathalie, and I planned not to post until Chinese New Year; but, I couldn’t resist posting it and can’t wait to share. This is the cutest postcard ever!! It’s so sweet of her to do this collage. Thank you Nathalie!
Nathelie is a jewelry designer and works along with her husband, Fernard, as a team for their own jewelry line, Hanna Bernhard. They live in Paris and their work is amazing, one of a kind. Most of the pieces that I’ve collected from their line have an Oriental theme which I love. If you’re one of my long time readers, you’ve probably already read my old posts about them. Anyway, check out their blog to learn more about their work if you wish. And here is the postcard.

Below are the pictures which she used for the collage.
Wearing: Hanna Bernhard Chinese dragon and Japanese lucky cat necklaces.
Thank you everyone for reading and wish you a wonderful weekend! xo…Hanh :)
