Ski Aspen for Spring Break

We had a chance to check out Aspen, Colorado during this spring break. We absolutely love Aspen city and skiing here. The city is more expensive than Vail, Beaver Creek…And Park City, Utah. There are four mountains to ski. Our favorites are Aspen Highlands and Snowmass mountain. Here are some infos to check out:

Aspen Highlands features extreme Colorado steeps. Wide-open runs, breathtaking views, plenty of beginner and intermediate runs. It has been the locals’ favorite for over 50 years. The summit elevation is 12,392 ft/3,768 m, and base elevation is 8,040 ft/2445 m. Longest run is 3.5 miles / 5.6 km.

Snowmass mountain is best known for wide-open, groomed cruising and family-friendly activities. Snowmass has long been rated one of the best family ski areas in North America. It’s located about 9 miles/14km from downtown Aspen. The summit elevation       is 12,510 ft (3,813 m), and base elevation      is 8,104 ft (2,473 m). Skiable area is 3,128 acres (12.66 km²), and longest run 5.3 Miles (8.5 km).

Aspen/Ajex mountain is located above the city of Aspen. The summit elevation is 11,212 ft./3,418 m, and base elevation is 7,945 ft./2,422 m. Skiable area is 673 acres (2.7 km2), and longest run is 3 miles/4.83 km.

Buttermilk is wide-open and gently rolling trails that cater to beginners and families. Summit elevation is 9,900 ft./3,018 m, and base elevation is 7,870 ft./2,399 m. Longest run: 3 miles/4.83 km.

Have a wonderful day ahead to all!…Hanh xx

Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel, Mexico, is an island in the Caribbean Sea. It is a tourist destination for its balnearios, scuba diving and snorkeling. The dry season is short from February to April. The main town on the island is San Miguel de Cozumel, it’s a fun place for walking around, shopping, and dining. There are many stores selling Cuban cigars, jewelry, t-shirts, tequila, and a large variety of inexpensive souvenirs, as well as many restaurants that have a huge variety of different cuisines. Don’t forget to rent a Jeep to drive around island, you will find many unique restaurants, shops. Chakanab Park is also a fun place to visit. Presidental Intercontinental Cozumel Resort is my favorite place to stay.

Vietnam Mekong Delta Country Lifestyle

When you visit Vietnam, don’t forget to visit Mekong Delta area. It’s a region in southwestern Vietnam, lies immediately to the west of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon), There are many floating markets in this region that you should check out as Cai Rang floating market, Cai Be, Phung Hiep… where people sell and buy things on the river. You can watch and learn about the daily life of the local people living in the boats. It will satisfy you by tropical fruit, local food, beautiful scenery, and unique culture of the Mekong Delta.

Summer in Oregon

Every summer, we have a chance to visit Portland, Oregon. It’s a perfect place for you to feel a chill weather during summer time, high about 75 F and low around 55-60 F. There are so many outdoor and fun activities here for you to do. Here are some highlights of my most recent trip to Oregon.

Hiking up to the top of Multnomah falls is a  must. The nature is gorgeous and the hike is awesome. The falls drop in two steps with total height of 620 feet (189m), and it’s the second tallest fall in the US.

When I’m in Portland, I love to start my day with hiking. There are so many nice hiking trails around Oregon. Here is another beautiful one called Horsetail trail.

We took a road trip to Timberline Lodge and hiked up to Mt.Hood.

Mt.Jefferson in the background and Timberline Lodge seen from halfway hiking up to the top of Mt.Hood. This hotel built in 1930s and it is noted in film for serving as the exterior of the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.

We walked up and down the fun street called NW 23rd. There are so many great, fun restaurants and shops on this street. My favorite place is Salt & Straw ice-cream store, the popular ice cream spot in Portland. They have many strange flavors as strawberry cilantro lime cheesecake, pear and blue cheese, caramel with salted dark chocolate….

Another fun store to visit while you’re on NW 23rd is Poplandia. It’s popcorn heaven. They serve delicious gourmet popcorn from the standard flavor Sea Salted Caramel and Double Cheesy to  unique flavors that are tasty, fresh, and very creative as Cool Watermelon Sorbet, Coconut Curry, Maple Bourbon Bacon and Cheddar Upon Caramel…

Merriman Vineyard in Yamhill county is beautiful. I always enjoy a private tour to this vineyard…Lol! Please, don’t tell anyone it’s my hubby’s vineyard :).

It was cloudy that day and we couldn’t see the Mt.Hood view, but it was such a beautiful sky.

Have a lovely day ahead! xo…Hanh :)

Borough Market, London

Borough market is one of my absolute favorite places in all of London! Thank you to my friend Levi Palmer who is a designer for Palmer//Harding clothing line who introduced me to this market. Borough Market is a great place to visit for anyone interested in food. The Market is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. You can find amazing products here, great range of cheese, bread, fresh meat, variety of fruit and vegetable, bakery products, fresh flowers…. Nice street food from different cuisines as Indian, Chinese, Spanish, Greek…(you name it) are outstanding. Tasting some of the free samples from various stands was fun, and the food was so fresh and delicious.

If you travel to London, you must visit this market. It is located on Southwark Street and Borough High Street just south of Southwark Cathedral on the southern end of London Bridge.  The market is one of the largest and oldest food markets in London. It was first mentioned in 1276, although the market itself claims to have existed since 1014. Amazing market! I will definitely visit this market again.

Have a wonderful day to all! xo…Hanh :)

I heart London!

My cute little girl. We all were excited to be in London.

I love the classic black London cab, but it’s fun to see the cabs come in a wide variety of colors.

London is one of the most fun cities we have visited. There are so many things to do in this city. The London Eye was pleasant and was our first thing to do to have a glance of London. The Fast boat ride on Thames river was fun. We visited Buckingham Palace, London Tower, toured  inside Westminster Abby, Madame Tausaud’s wax museum, King Cross station where they filmed part of Harry Potter. Borough market, the oldest market in London, has  been opened since 1500. Covent Garden market, shopping at TopShop on Regent/Oxford street, and walking around the town were all fun. Cool restaurants with great food for hanging out with family and friends are everywhere. There’s so many things left to be done in London. It’s definitely a come-back city.

Its culture, contemporary life style, entertainment, performing arts, media, cuisine, fashion, all are amazing. Shopping is incredible. I’m asking myself if there’s better shopping in New York or Paris, and I still have no answer. I hope you could help me with this. To see more of New York, click here, here, here, and here.

Deer Valley Journal

It was beautiful in Deer Valley.  The mountains, the sky, the air, the snow were pleasant.  The sun really changed the mountains beauty everyday. Mountain air is good for your soul.

There was one day the sun came out while snowing. It made snowflakes sparkle in the air, the snow on the ski runs sparkle as well. I thought I was truly in magical place of winter wonderland. That day was actually a new year’s eve day, it’s just perfect feeling to welcome 2013.

There was one day of heavy snow and it was a little hard to see, but the snowflakes were perfect, as if they were drawn. I haven’t seen anything like that before. Snow is truly exhilarating.

We enjoyed our new adventure-snowmobile.

My little girl made a snow angle in the fresh snow.

The photo below was the view from our flight. Just stunning!

Have a wonderful weekend to you all! xo…Hanh :)
