Feeling for Black

Had Rick Owens jacket on.

Wearing: American Apparel body suit, CdG skirt, Rick Owens jacket, Maison Martin Margiela curly ribbon leather necklace, Forever21 cuffs, Chanel bag, Ysl boots, and Nina Ricci sunnies.

I had this outfit taken a few days before Lunar new year and I didn't have time to share. The color of this outfit is the lucky color of the Dragon year; Black. Because this year is the water Dragon, there is an exception to the rule: wearing black for luck, not red. Why is black the lucky color of the year? The water element in the five elements (metal, water, earth, wood, fire) system is related to black. Therefore, 2012 is the black Dragon, water Dragon, or black water Dragon. So black should be the dominant color in your wardrobe this year. Everybody!! Pair black with any vibrant color.

Also some said that gold is also a lucky color of this year because it is the color of the dragon.

Seriously, do you believe that wearing certain colors will bring you luck? Or just a superstitious thing...Or maybe you believe so strongly that you can make your day become a successful day because you are wearing your lucky color?? I personally don't take it too seriously. But this way of thinking is interesting and I'd love to hear what you think about this.

The Year of the Water Dragon

Following Lunar calendar, this year is the year of the Water Dragon. In many Eastern countries as China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam..., dragon is a symbol of power, strength, and good luck. And years of the dragon are always a popular one for anyone getting married, staring a business, or having a child. Dragon years bring luck and vim.

May this Dragon year brings you a year full of love, peace, happiness, health, great friends, great fortune!!

Striking Blue

As I shared with you in the previous posts, the zipper sleeve top and the zipper hem skirt that I came up with an idea and designed them from a few yards of blue fabric leftover.

I'm so happy the skirt has become my favorite one -it is comfy, chic and yet very striking blue hue. So, I couldn't help myself to wear the skirt again for a night out. This time, I styled it with MMMargeila nude bodysuit, and this Rick Owens distressed leather jacket with zipper details gives a perfect compliment to the skirt. I intended to play with the diagonal angle of the zippers in this look and love it so much.

Again, thank you NhaKhanh, a Dallas designer, for doing the pattern and sewing to make my idea/design happen!

This Maison Martin Margiela nude bodysuit has a smooth texture and it's a great piece for layering. I love to wear it underneath an opened dress or an opened top when I don't want to expose too much skin.

Veil Inspiration

This Madewell scarf is one of my favorites. Its fabric is soft cotton jersey and its size is big enough to inspire me to play with. You could find around three or four yards of soft jersey fabric to do a DIY project. Jersey fabric works fine with a raw edge. When I put this outfit together, it was inspired by "hijab"; a headscarf or veil (refers to the head covering traditionally worn by Muslim women and modest Muslim styles of dress in general).

My husband (who is my photographer) and I had a lot of fun while doing this shoot. The weather was perfect to wear these layers; MMMargiela nude bodysuit underneath NhaKhanh thumb holed mesh top, The Row cardigan, Madewell scarf, J Brand bianca jeans, MMMargiela goat hair collar (similar here).

I had fun styling this outfit. I love the fact that this look seems very mysterious and spiritual. Yes, it added even more interest to the look by pairing with this McQueen devil clutch (similar here) which I purchased last year from the final sale at the Forty Five Ten boutique, and my little girl who chose this clutch from among those on sale.

Blue Pink

I had a few yards of blue fabric leftover, so I came up with an idea and designed this zipper sleeve top and zipper hem skirt. Thank you to NhaKhanh for doing the pattern and sewing to make my idea/design happen! And NhaKhanh is one of Dallas talented designers.

I found this Avant Toi cashmere silk panel scarf at Forty Five Ten boutique in Dallas. The boutique recently carried this line. This scarf is made of pure cashmere with hand painted and washed, attached in the middle with a Hermes vintage silk scarf. The result is a beautiful double layer scarf-so classy and rare. Each Avant Toi's scarf is strictly one of a kind. I really love their scarf design idea. And I definitely love those ducks...

Saturday Lunch Outfit

I tried this Maison Martin Margiela goat hair bolero jacket months ago at Barneys in NY and I've dreamed about it since, although it reminds me of my Celine shearling cropped jacket. I'd like to style it with a black Helmut Lang top, and AG Adriano Goldschmied faux leather leggings.

And these McQueen boots will compliment the look. Also, the pink McQueen clutch and this hot pink La Mer Collection wrap watch are fun items to complete the look.

This outfit is chic, edgy, stylish, and an especially great deal to buy now because they are on sale.

From Deer Valley Mountain

There was a lot of sunshine in Deer Valley, Utah. It was warm and beautiful, although it needed more snow compared with last season. There were a few run closed, but overall, it's a great place to ski. Deer Valley Mountain offers six peaks. It has a limit on lift tickets sold for daily skiing and exclusive for skier, no snowboarding. Also, it has been rated #1 ski resort in North America for five consecutive years by the readers of Ski Magazine. If you're snowboarders, go to Park City Mountain resort where it has amazing slopes for your snowboarding techniques.

Ready for Park City's Main Street

Here what I wore après ski. I headed to Park City's Main street for an afternoon shopping with the family. The Park City's Main Street is the home of internationally famous Sundance Film Festival, which opens toward the end of January.

When we were doing the shoot, the snow came down. It was beautiful.

My past season's Burberry Prorsum boots (resemblance here) are my favorite shearling boots.

A Cold Day in Deer Valley

Another cold day in Deer Valley, we took it easy skiing and played in the snow with the kids instead. For the first time, I shared my photos without make-up on, Lord! I often go bare faced when I travel with the family.

About the outfit, I tried to blend in tho the ski environment but not look so typically skier. This Prada jacket was a solution. I purchased it years ago at Barneys for 65% off and I brought it with me on every ski trip since. Yes, I get so many nice compliments everytime. Here is the look:

NhaKhanh thumb holed mesh top was underneath Club Monaco turtle neck sweater, BcBg wool pants, Lanvin lucite sunglasses, F21 knit hat, and very old snow boots.

In a different day with the same outfit but with Chanel boots and Nina Ricci sunglasses. They both instantly gave the look more stylish character. And in the two photos below, I had on a little blush :)

These Chanel boots I also purchased 65% off from last winter's sale at Barneys. They are so COOL and so many people have stopped to give me compliments.

The New Power Pairing for Winter

The cold days are here, wearing big chunky cardigans or over-sized sweaters is a fun way to keep us warm and cozy. There are so many ways to pair it; with jeans, leather leggings, shorts skirt, maxi skirt (if you're tall)...You can throw on a fabulous scarf, gloves, amazing boots, or add a touch of fur...there! You look so cozy and stylish.

And here is my new power pairing for winter: in this outfit, I wanted an exciting, fun, young, sexy look, but chic. So, I paired this sweater with gray leopard printed shorts from Tobi and my old Jill Sander high thigh boots. Of course, this consignment blue fur stole and a Chanel mini bag gave a touch of fanciness. I wore this outfit for my past Sunday casual afternoon date with my man while the kids enjoyed playing at grandma's house.

Okay! I think this Chanel mini bag is so sexy. More its picture below.

My old Dries van Noten sunglasses.

I've had these Jill Sander high thigh boots for many years, every fall/winter, I'm excited to bring them out. I love the structure of the heels and how you can rumple them to be knee length boots (as showed in the last two pictures).

I found this Alexander Wang sweater to be a very nice design. The zipper detail, the pointy sides, and the back design made it COOL.

Modern + Classic Tradition

Before you see these pictures below, please ignore my unpleasant face :) The sun was so strong that I couldn't relax my eyes and face. I needed sunglasses. Lol!! I had no time to retake. Oh! Well, the important thing here is the outfit to share.

I intended to design this dress to pair with my old MMMargiela leather shorts. I wanted this look to be a mix of modern and classic Vietnamese tradition; yet surely, the look has its own character. It's unexpected pairing! I really love the way these shoes paired with this outfit; kinda Lady Gaga, and the leather choker reminds me of Hmong people (French gave them the name Montagnards; mountain people) jewelry, a perfect element for this look.

About the dress, when I designed it, I was thinking it should be a versatile one. You can pair it with high waisted wide leg jeans, skinny jeans, leather leggings, trousers, pencil skirt, or even maxi pleated skirt...whatever you pair it with, it still gives you an unexpected asymmetric look and that's the fun. You also give it a fancy or casual look by styling with different accessories...

Jeffrey Campbell Night Walk pumps from Solestruck are one of my amazing shoes. Actually, they're comfy and easy to walk in.

This leather choker is one of the more striking pieces from Sue Gragg's jewelry Holiday Collection. Her designs are stunning. She is a talented lady and a very sweet friend of mine. I actually wore this outfit to attend her jewelry show last Tuesday. It was an amazing show.

Chanel Accesories

In this outfit, you will see that I styled it with two different accessories. For the first look, I paired with the Chanel 2.55 black lambskin classic double flap bag which I found at Vintage Martini. Although it is a second hand bag, but it's new and in flawless condition. I was so lucky to get it for an unbelievably great deal. The previous owner of this bag passed away :( and Ken, the owner of Vintage Martini, got almost all of her wardrobe and broght it to his store. Would you buy something like that, that has a spooky story behind it?

Zipped up the MMMargielar tailed sweater vest.

For the second look, I paired the outfit with the Chanel necklace. As you see, I didn't carry the Chanel bag in this look, I think it's too much if they pair together. Be careful when you style with a lot of Chanel accessories into one outfit, don't over do, it could look so tacky.

I love pairing the long leather gloves with a sweater vest or vest jacket. It's cool!

And here what I wore underneath the MMMargiela tailed sweater vest: Cosabella lace crop top, Wang racerback tank top, J Brand bianca jeans, and gloves from Barneys.

A lot of blue in this look. I know. I wanted this intense blue outfit to contrast with this vivid orange Celine bag, creating unexpected color pairing, a striking color-blocked look. I special ordered these trousers in blue from the Nha Khanh line (they're actually just available in pink or black). What do you think? The blue also nicely enhances my mid-night black hair color which I colored myself with Clairol semi permanent a couple weeks ago. It's just a little change of hair color tone for a warm look and fun for the winter.

Blue is my obsessing color right now. This brilliant blue shade makes such a big statement and is perfect for attending holiday parties. You will stand out in the crowd. Yet, you look new and different among people who traditionally wear the black or red or even shimmer gold... Corona del Mar beach, California

Last week, we had a chance to visit Corona del Mar beach in California. If you are in Los Angeles area, you should visit this beach. The beach is located about 50 miles south of LA and 4 miles west of John Wayne Airport. It's one of California's most romantic beach views and it's a stunning place for wedding photos and romantic proposals. Corona del Mar (Spanish for Crown of the Sea) is also a great family beach. It's clean and you really feel that the beach is yours. I love the nice big rocks/mini rock-hills that almost seem to decorate the edges of the shore. The kids climb on these rock-hills and have fun to run on those lower rocks to look at the crabs. I noticed that people of all ages feel very comfortable here. You see the seniors all decked out, reading their books. You see the cutest youth in groups, girls over here, boys over there, and older groups play volleyball, walking with their dogs...The beach offers the relaxed atmosphere, a great place for a picnic. Parking is free and very close to the shore, there is no long trips to your car to haul your stuff around.

Color Splash, Part 3: Neon Pink

I styled these Miu Miu bloomers before with a nude polka dot top, but this time I wanted to style it with a solid bright color; neon pink. I got this Jean Paul Gaultier turtleneck top from Open Ceremony in Soho during NYFW. For some reason lately, I'm into vivid colors. This makes the fall/winter so different from the past; a mix feeling of spring :)

Maybe the way bloomers are designed makes me think they could be too young for me. However, I fell in love with these at first sight at the Miu Miu boutique months ago, so I made it work for me by wearing tights/pantyhose to reveal less skin (although bloomers and shorts are the same idea). What do you think?

I'm obsessed with the color of this Celine bag. This strikingly vivid orange is so uplifting, yet. it's surely brightens the gray winter sky and brings us to a different level of energy-a strong feeling for this fall/winter season.

Balenciaga is always on my A list of my favorite designs. And this top....Its asymmetrical design, the sculpted neckline, the surprising shimmer gold underneath, its chic, edginess, bold, and so modern...made this top so different; simply drop dead gorgeous! I'm in love!

These J Brand jeans are over 5 years old. Every time, I wear them and realize how much I love them! They're a great investment piece. I'm glad that they brought this design back and the jeans are being sold again at Barneys CO-OP.

I found this silver bracelet, designed by Audrey Savransky who has created AS29 line, at Colette store in Paris this summer. I was looking for a perfect designed dragon bracelet for years, and I was so happy to find it. If you look at its details and its proportions are just magnificent. I absolutely adore it! My dream! :)

Weeks ago, I got this postcard in my email from my sweet friend, Nathalie, and I planned not to post until Chinese New Year; but, I couldn't resist posting it and can't wait to share. This is the cutest postcard ever!! It's so sweet of her to do this collage. Thank you Nathalie!

Nathelie is a jewelry designer and works along with her husband, Fernard, as a team for their own jewelry line, Hanna Bernhard. They live in Paris and their work is amazing, one of a kind. Color Splash, Part 1: Hot Pink

I know I should polish my nails, but being the chef of the family and cooking almost everyday, nail polish is not practical for me :) Those gloves were purchased long ago at a local store in Paris. Hermes watch.

The pink in this look brought a spring feeling to me. I'm so glad that bright colors, a pop of color, color-blocking...is continuing big this fall/winter. Yet, it's really to brighten up a gray, depressing fall/winter sky and it surely brings more of a happy feeling to everyone. Pink is my favorite color. It was so hard to say NO to this hot pink McQueen clutch and the skull is so McQueen classic.

In this outfit, I like how the Zero+Maria Cornejo dress and Louis Vuitton pink scarf gives it an elegant-feminine look, while McQueen boots and unexpected pairing of the gloves brings out a strong side, and Nina Ricci sunglasses added a edginess.

A Casual Outfit with Raphael Young Shoes

I worn this casual outfit yesterday to run errands with my husband for his business affairs; MMM nude body suit, Mayle trousers, Forever 21 knit scarf, Dries clutch, Celine sunglasses. I styled them with my very sick shoes by Raphael Young, and can't wait for you to see details of the shoes. They're amazing!!

I love this F21 colorful knit scarf which I purchased it over a year ago. It's really uplifting this look.

These shoes are by Raphael Young, the young shoe designer, born in Seoul in 1974. He created his first pair of shoes at 14 years old under the guidance of his uncle, Alexandre Narcy, who spent his entire career designing shoes for YsL. Raphael launched his label in 2007. He is a true artisan and a real craftsman. Yet, Raphael makes from stitch to finish every single shoe. This isn't about numbers, it's about quality. His shoes are only available in selectively unique shops that share the same ideology of small productions with higher quality.

I was so happy to find them at Seven New York boutique in Soho and they were on sale. These shoes are perfect to give you an edgy-stylish look, a fashion forward-futuristic feel, and yet comfy at your feet.

I'm glad that the fall weather is finally here. But I wanted to give those F21 shorts a last chance before storing them away. Most of my shorts are from F21 and I love them; inexpensive and good quality. Also, I wanted to share this cool tank top which I purchased on sale a long time ago at IF boutique in Soho. This piece is versatile one, you can pair it with leggings, skinny jeans, wide legged jeans, skirts,...Sure, you can layer and wear it for all seasons. Anyway, I took advantage of a warm afternoon to do a shoot of this outfit on our balcony while the kids were doing their homework.

Actually, I like this look a lot. It's easy, casual. The cut of the tank top and Comme des Garcons collar made the outfit fun and interesting.

Venice Flashback

We believe Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The 5th century city is built on the water, just two to four feet above sea level. Cars are banned, so the only way to get around this city is by foot or by watertaxi. You'll be awed by the magical beauty. It is filled with extraordinary architectural masterpieces and art. Yet, these are just some of the unbelievably fabulous things to do. Whoever comes here, I'm sure they'll fall in love and bring home a dream; a dream of coming back. Not only for adults but for children too. I know it for fact, it was our kid's most fun city during our 5 weeks traveling through Europe. Both of our kids brought home a dream of coming back here to attend the Venice carnival when they become teens. Yes, to everyone, Venice is a magical city on water.

Color Combo at The Moment

You're probably tired of seeing me with these kitty cat face wedges, but I can't help it. They keep calling my name. Ok! I will face them into the corner of my shoe closet. Hopefully, in next post, you will see a different pair.

Anyway, as you see in my last few outfits, I've been crazy about wearing the color combo, cream-red-gray-white. It gives me an elegant, easy feeling. Actually, what I wore here is almost the same with the last outfit in the past post. However, it's not the same look. There are many different prints of Buddha's hand on this scarf and this print is my favorite.

Kimme Winters necklaces incorporate unusual artifacts and mixes them with a variety of pendants such as: Buddha, cross, charm of Mary, medallions, heart charm..ect...and beads which make her necklaces are different.

This red beaded with mixed pendants and Cross is my third one from her design. I love the bright red shade of these beads and I've got a fun idea to wear it across the shoulder. Yet, it is my new way to wear a long chain necklace. It's different and fun.

Light Layers

Light layers outfit for early Fall. The weather has been perfect to wear light layers; around 60 Fahrenheit in the morning and at night, mid 80 F during the day. I had repeated wearing this outfit in the last two weeks and I love it, especially the colors combination.

Those wedges are so comfy too, and I absolutely love them. I've gotten so many compliments every time I've had them on.

Happy Girl

My little girl's birthday was yesterday, but we had a slumber party for her to celebrate with her friends on last Saturday.

She had a cookies cake with her 7 friends.

The kids had a blast at the slumber party. It was a great group. Everyone had fun, behaved themselves, and had a good night sleep. Lucky me, no one woke up in the middle of the night and cry. This is a photo of colorful nail polish of 7 girls after they left nail salon before heading to The Main Event for games.

At school, yesterday, she had donuts to celebrate with her classmates. Everyone waited for her to have a first bite.

Yesterday, after school, we celebrated her Bday at home with a huge red velvet cupcake, baking by me (it was my first time and the cake turned out delicious).

She had on a snuggie blanket, a gift from her sweet big sister.

It Was One of Our Best Nights

Sometimes bad things happen at bad time but it turns out to be the best. I wore this outfit last Saturday for dinning out. We planned to stop at a place to take some photos for the blog. Guess what?? When we were there,...we got a flat tire. My husband called Triple A to come to the rescue. While we were waiting, we got some good photos of me and the sunset. This flat tire was a good thing for us to have a chance watching and enjoying the beautiful sunset in Dallas that we almost never do it. It really cheered us up. It was romantic. The nightfall was beautiful with a very pleasant breeze. 45 minutes of waiting and our car was back on the road. I have to say Triple A rocks; fast and friendly.

We had a delightful dinner. It was a gorgeous night to be outside for an after dinner drink. We enjoyed, talked, laughed... Wow! Almost 11:00pm. It was rare for us not to be home this late. It was one of our best nights.

I remember it clear that when I was pregnant with my first child and I was running up and down the stairs, shaking, and screaming loud to wake up my husband to see it this news. What I remember most about the rest of that day was the quiet of mass shock. 10 years later, it happened I was in New York. What a day! Yet, New York is still strong, beautiful. There is no other city like New York in the world. I love New York! and always....

Summer at Lake Saint-Cassien

If you are in the south of France, you should visit lake Saint-Cassien. It is only about 12 km west of Cannes. This lake is about 430 hectares, beautiful, wild, natural, and is easy to get to. The lake is bordered almost completely by forested hills, the shoreline is undeveloped, leaving its beauty for picturesque views and for people to enjoy. It is a very popular place for carp fishing, and a great place for family to enjoy water activities such as windsurfing, pedalos, swimming, and rowing. We had a wonderful time there. It's one of our favorite places in Provence.

Sayulita

Sayulita, Mexico, is a small town, a 45 minute drive from Puerto Vallarta. It was perfect for us to take a day trip to Sayulita while we were in Punta Mita. The town is small (about 1500 residents) and super-friendly, making it a great place to practice and improve your Spanish. The atmosphere is about as laid-back as it gets. Shirts for men are optional. The beaches are perfect-long, beautiful stretches of sand set under a backdrop of jungle and palm trees. Yes, it is a great place for your outdoor adventure: horseback riding, zip-lining, hiking, surfing...

I should have shared this post about 6 months ago.

As you know, my little daughter who loves art is very creative. I've been sharing with you her drawings, her clothing designs for herself and her doll. Once more, I'm proud to share these rings which she also designed. Remember, she's only 7!

One day, months ago, when my little girl and I had a chance to have dinner with my sweet friend, Sue Gragg, Sue asked my girl: "What would you like to be when you grow up?". My girl said, "Designer". Sue said "I'm a jewelry designer and have my own store, so can you design jewelry for me?". My little girl confidently said "sure", and quickly grabbed a piece of paper and sketched these rings without thinking. She sketched them in a seconds with a crayon. Thank you to my sweet friend, Sue Gragg, for transforming my girl's sketches into real rings! Sue did wonderful work keeping the original design, especially the way she wrote the words.

When I was in Mexico

I packed a lot of white. White is ageless, the perfect color for the beach. It looks fresh, clean, statement, effortless, ...and a great contrast color for the blue water and blue sky. I found this beach cover-up from Everything But Water that you could wear out on the town or for a casual cocktail party on the beach.

Wore colorful hair ties as a bracelets. I found them very practical for the beach; they brighten up your wrist and can get wet. I wanted a dramatic contrast to the white dress, so I brought a bunch with me to layer. But I got only three left, my kids got most of them ;) They are too brilliantly colored not to be taken by the kids.

The Cliff

As you know, I gained weight from my past Europe trip and I just had one week to work out to get rid of my gain for this Mexico trip. Yet, I worked out hard on the treadmill and ran up/down on the stairs at home. Thanks to my high metabolism, the gain was 90% gone. So, I have some bikini photos to share here. Probably, in the future, when I look back to these photos, I'm thinking either that I'm glad to have these shots or I'm goofy.

But, I'm happy that my nails are natural, and I'm extremely happy to be with my eleven family members including my parents on this vacation in Punta Mita, Mexico.

Monaco

We had a chance to visit Monaco past June and we absolutely love it. Monaco is the second smallest country (by size) in the world; only the Vatican City is smaller. You just need one day to overview this country, but you may need more days to party and visit casinos. It is next to Villefranche and Nice, France. It is one of the most beautiful and elegant places on the French Riviera. It reminds me of Santa Babara, California.

Derek Lam Dress - Spring2011

Packing light is a smart way to save my energy and less work when I travel with my kids. This Derek Lam dress was my fashion savior on my family's past vacation. As you know, I packed eight mix/match outfits for my five weeks long trip. Yet, I wore this dress countless times and I got so many compliments. Clearly, I styled it loose casual look for daytime with pink flipflops, and styled it with nicer shoes and waist cinch with a fancy belt for nighttime. I called it the fashion savior also because it's a concealing outfit to hide my gained pounds from the trip.

Unfortunately, to gain pounds is easy but to loose it is hard. I'm still working to get back my normal weight. I don't know if it's possible, my beach vacation is coming up in a week and my bikini has to wait :(

When I Gained Six Pounds

These pictures were taken about a month ago when I was in Venice, Italy. I tweeted that I gained 6 pounds on my trip because of eating good pasta, pizza, tiramisu, ice-cream... Yes, the gain went straight to my hips and belly. This is so easy to explain when you already have had two children and getting older (I'm...4.....2...Aaaah!!!). Yet, this Banana Republic skirt was so TIGHT and this top made me look slim. Thanks to my Rick Owens top, I was able to cover my fat, and the skirt cooperated as well.

Our Sweet Moments

These pictures were taken a few weeks ago when we were in NYC.

Being a mom, I always enjoy the kisses and hugs from my kids. I truly cherish those special moments. Yes, I'm definitely addicted to snuggling with them, I'm sure they are, too. Here was candid photo, a sweet kiss from my lovely big girl.

O-Oh! You've probably seen this often in a family; the moment that is the kids are loving each other and the next moment fighting. And a mom must listen to both sides to be a fair judge. Here was that moment:

A fair judge is important to turn any fight into a happy, loving ending :)

Anyway, back to the fashion, I've received countless compliments every time I've worn this Hanna Bernard lucky cat necklace which I special ordered from HB team months ago. Finally, I had it. Yet, I'm deeply in love with it. I'm so glad that I came up with this custom made cat necklace idea, my Japanese lucky cat is my treasure. And the work of HB team is always impressive.

Sunset on The Hudson River

The Hudson river in New York city is one of my favorite rivers. It was so pleasant to spend our fine evening on the yacht on this river where you can enjoy the sunset over the Big Apple and New Jersey on the other side of the river. The yacht stayed at the same spot when we were out there and we had a great chance to see beautiful Manhattan changing its beauty under the sunlight. It was amazing!

Amalfi Coast

We truly love Italy. Every region, city, town, village...has its own character and beauty. Of course, I don't forget to mention the food, the language, the people...these make Italy is an amazing country. Amalfi coast is one of my favorite regions. It is definitely a popular tourist destination. The Amalfi coast is on the Southern coast of Italy and is known for its scenic beauty and picturesque villages. Visit if you love the sun, want to go to fabulous parties in Positano, or explore the hilltop gardens of Ravello. Amalfi Drive is a scenic stretch that runs along the cliff, streching from the Bay of Naples to the Gulf of Salerno.

When I was in Paris

These Miu Miu trousers were my new purchase in Paris with 50% off. It's fun how this Free People blouse changed its color from hot pink to bright coral under different sunlight.

I borrowed my kid's faux fur mouse key chain. We bought two of them, one bright blue and one bright orange, on the street in Italy for 4 Euro each. I think it's a cute idea to attach it to my Celine bag for this look.

The Birds - San Marco in Venice

Half of the pigeons have already gone compared with years ago when we were here before. The city government doesn't want those birds here anymore and does not allow the tourists to feed them, but the tourists do it anyway. They also enjoy taking pictures with them. When the people talk about San Marco, they talk about feeding the pigeons. The pigeons add a fun and dramatic feel to the square.

My kids like to visit the square and feed the pigeons every day. The kids were scared at first, but they enjoyed it and had fun.

This DFV blue dress is always with me on every summer vacation. I love its color and it's easy to wear. For the first time, I own a Louis Vuitton scarf.

We believe Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and Piazza San Marco is one of the most stunning and romantic squares. Relaxing at the square, feeding hundreds of pigeons, listening to live classic music, looking at the Bell Tower and Basilica....every element makes this square so magical.

Bright Summer in Mondello

My little girl was busy and happy playing with her new friend; rolypolyoli.

These pictures were taken when we were in Mondello, a seaside town at the foot of Monte Pellergrino in Sicily, Italy.

I wore Forever21 shorts, the top from Free People. I absolutely love this top for its winkle free, bright color, and breezy feeling. It is one of my favorite outfits on this trip. The kids wore their new tops from Custo Barcelona for kids-Custo Growing, and the umbrellas were purchased from Sicily.

Palermo is an Italian town, the capital of Sicily. It is completely surrounded by walls: the mountains of Palermo. It is a busy town. There are a couple of areas that it's not safe to walk in.

Massimo theater is the largest theater building opera in Italy, and the third largest opera in Europe after the Opera National de Paris and the Staatsoper in Vienna. The theater was the scene of some of the film The Godfather-Part 3 in 1990.

Piazza Pretoria is known as the Square of Shame for the nudity of the statues.

There are plenty of horse carriages for tourists. Most of the horses have a cute hat on.

This is the seventeenth century Facade of the Shrine and is leaning against the rock at the peak of Monte Pellegrino mountain. There were very beautiful views of the city on the way from the center of the city up to the mountain by car.

Mondello is a seaside town at the foot of Monte Pellergrino. It is a nice bay with sandy tropical colors, restaurants, little shops, yacht clubs, and a beach. Its clear blue water is so beautiful and reminds me of the clear blue water and nice beaches in St John, US Virgin Islands.

Relaxing in Corsica

After so many stops at the busy places like Barcelona in Spain, La Valletta in Malta, then Sicily, Naples, Rome, Florence in Italy...When we got to Ajaccio-Corsica in France, we just wanted to take it easy, eat a lot of ice-cream, crepes, cheese... and relax on the beach all day. The weather was great and sunny.

My scarf with the Mediterranean map print was just perfect for this cruise trip (the scarf's brand???). The kids and I took turns to wear it everyday. I was afraid my Mcqueen flats will be beat up from wearing them so much (my flipflops were broken at that time). I adore my Wang shorts, and Madewell t-shirt was great as a cover-up.

I like watching this little girl with the daiper on and followed her mama going back and forth with her baby steps . So adorable!

I always love to go to "open markets" in Europe. The food, the wines, the cheeses, the fruits....are so fresh.

Sagrada Familia

Sagrada Familia is a large Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, Spain, designed by architect Antoni Gaudi. It is one of his most famous works and has been under construction since 1882. Although incomplete, the church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I'm always wondering when it will be finished. I visited the church a couple times, but I had never made it inside because of a long line to get in. I was glad that I made it happened this time. Read more about its history, click here.

Pink-Yellow-White

I wore this outfit over two weeks ago when I visited Barcelona; Forever21 white linen shorts and bright yellow t-shirt, Dsquared cotton jacket, Hermes scarf, and Christian Louboutin cork sandals. Although these shoes are so comfy, Mcqueen flats are more practical to save my energy to travel around with my kids.

Park Guell, Barcelona

Park Guell is one of the achievements of the architect Antoni Gaudi. It is a stylish park in Barcelona. It built in early twentieth century. At the top of Guell park is a terraced area where you can get a wonderful view of the park and of the city. In the park, also has small house which Gaudi lived in at one stage. The house has now been converted into museum.

I purchased these sunglasses at Park Guell, Barcelona, Spain from a guy who sells fake sunglasses and handbags. He told me 5 Euro for a pair. Finally, I got a deal 10 Euro for 4 pairs. I absolutely love these and my kids love them too. It's so surprising that they're great quality, no one will know they are cheap. Got to love this!

Hermes Scarf

While I was thinking about what to pack for our trip to Europe, which includes a cruise on the Mediterranean, this outfit crossed my mind: Rick Owens leather corset top which I wore with jeans and layered with halter top in the previous post. It's very versatile and my favorite top right now. Banana Republic linen skirt, Hermes scarf.

Christian Louboutin cork platform sandals. I'm not sure if I will have these shoes on all day long, although they are extremely light and super comfy. Bringing a pair of flats is always a good idea.

When you have younger daughters, the first thing you notice is that your lipstick often disappears :-) because they like to play and move around with it. You will update your lipstick more often than you thought, which I have experienced.

Spring Breeze

It has been windy lately, a lot of rain, thunder, hail, tornado warning...It's spring in Dallas. It seems more severe this year. Scary? Excited?? You could tell that it was so windy and about to rain in these pictures below.

This Proenza Schouler dress from this spring 2011 collection is so beautiful. Actually, the whole collection is stunning. I've got so many compliments whenever I wear it, and so many people thought it has a twist of Chanel. This look is feminine and romantic. With the delicate fabric and amazing details, I can see it took hours and patience to make this dress. That's incredible.

These Christian Louboutin daffodil pumps are so marvelous. They are a special gift for my birthday from my special friend who is just so kind, sweetheart, and generous. She left them at my front door and left a text to my mobile phone to surprise me. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you so much to my special friend for this lovely surprise gift!

We had an amazing Easter Sunday. I hope you had an amazing day too!

Here is our little Easter garden that the kids decorated. Oh! Easter bunny and his egg...so cute!

Thank you Easter bunny for dropping us a few presents at our Easter garden. You're always so kind and sweet to the children.

After Easter egg hunting, we played Mexican confetti eggs. Following Mexican tradition, Easter confetti eggs are often broken over someone's head as a symbol of good luck. It's a part of the holiday celebration.

We were ready for racing the flying paper air-planes.

3pm snack time: we all enjoyed our red velvet cake and berries smoothie while watching the Home Alone movie. YUM!!!

The kids were playing bubble blowing while the adults were chatting and grilling some meat for dinner.

Feeling like dressing up and spending Good Friday with my girls. I normally don't dress up like this when I'm with my kids, but once in awhile it's fun. We had an amazing time. We especially enjoyed the nails spa time. They behaved like elegant ladies. It was like a growing up experience for my kids...Baking cookies for Easter Bunny was one of the best parts, and flying the paper air-planes was also a blast...Family happy time!!

Anyway, this outfit with the Christopher Ross rabbit buckle belt is perfect for Easter. Oh! my blue nail polish! It's a lovely bright blue; OPI Ogre-the-top-blue. I love the fact that it's so deep and reminds me of the ocean or the pool. It's a great color for spring and summer. I've enjoyed it as much as the yellow nail polish.

If you are in Park City Utah, and hungry for Italian food. I highly recommended Grappa restaurant. It's located in Park City's historic Main street. The restaurant is narrow and 3 stories high. It's very charming and has friendly almostphere . The food was so light, fresh, and prepared with simple ingredients. Dining here was so delightful that we came back twice during our stay in Park City.

Complimentary by the chef, Fonduta di Piemonte.
