Ebony Horses

Chinese New Year is here in a couple day. Chinese New Year is often referred to as the ‘Lunar New Year’. I thought the horses print on this top is suitable, yes perfect, to wear for welcoming Chinese New Year 2014- the year of the Wooden Horse.

Horses are known for being strong-willed and unbridled as well as charming and intelligent. The Horse is self-centered by nature and wants things done his way. He will set out to sway people to his way of thinking. Snapping his fingers and clicking his heels, this trailblazer could talk you into anything once he begins to dish out the charm. People find it hard to resist his positive and self-assured outlook on life.

Wooden Horses are thought to be the most reasonable of the five types of Horses. Wooden Horses are less impatient than their brethren, finding it easier to be self-disciplined and organized, but they are still strong-willed and resist ”being dominated”.  They are very happy and active in social settings and are known to be good conversationalists.

Wearing: Forever 21 horses print top, TopShop jacket, Celine skirt and bag, Hermes bracelet, Lanvin necklace, and Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte.

Thank you everyone for visiting! Happy Chinese New Year!…Hanh.

Cool Weather Cool Shorts

How is everyone doing? I’m finally back to posting and sorry for keeping you waiting so long. I shot this look awhile ago and didn’t have a chance to share. Pairing a look with a light sweatshirt, a jacket over shoulders and shorts/mini skirt is the ideal look for a sunny chilly day. It gives us a good reason to be naughty and show some skin. Adding cool shoes calls just enough attention.

Wearing: Forever 21 sweatshirt, Zara skorts, Balenciaga jacket and bag, Alaia shoes, Celine sunnies, Margelia necklace, Hermes ring, and bracelet flea market.

Have a nice day to all!…Hanh.

Linda Farrow Sunglasses

Linda Farrow, my new favorite sunglasses designer. She is an iconic designer, one of the first to treat sunglasses as an essential part of fashion. Iconic gold Linda Farrow aviators were my first pair and I absolutely adore them. When I saw these rose gold cat eye, I went crazy. I love how she mixed the past and present styles for independently envied creations in her design. Yes, wear them for maximum impact even with a simple outfit. They’re a timeless style to treasure for years to come. It’s an investment piece.

Wearing: Forever 21 shirt, Zara skorts, TopShop jacket, Viktor & Rolf booties, Linda Farrow sunnies, Chanel bag, and Bijules rings.

Seafood Kabob

Yummy homecooked seafood kabob, wild caught King salmon, Chilean sea bass, shrimp, red bell pepper, and onion. Served with lemongrass organic wild rice. This dish was a perfect pairing w/ Burgundy-Clos de Tart.

  • Ingredients: any kind of fish (your choice), shrimp, you could add muscle and clam. Bell pepper and onion or any kind of veggie you prefer, little salt, garlic powder, cracked black pepper. Cooking oil. Some stick and foil.

  • Preparing: clean your seafood, cut the fish in small pieces as well as bell pepper and onion. Sprinkle the seafood with some salt, garlic powder, cracked black pepper. Put your seafood and veggie on the stick, alternating them. Brush it with a little bit of cooking oil. Now you have beautiful kabobs.

  • Cooking: Heat up your grill in high heat. Use foil to set on top of your grill. Put  the kabobs on the foil, and grill for about 15 to 20 minutes. Enjoy your yummy healthy kabobs.

You could serve your kabobs with any kind of rice. I served it with lemongrass wild rice. Enjoy!

Have a wonderful day to you all! Hanh.

Tear It Up

Hi guys! I finally tried to find my mood to resume my post.

Tear it up or layer it up, I just really like this look- young, energy, and fun.  I felt like this outfit chased my blues away. I recently found this ‘Tear it up’ tank and the sweatshirt from Forever 21. I really love the hem detail and the mix of two fabrics of this sweatshirt, and the graphic of this tank top.  I hope this look inspires you to layer a tank top and a sweatshirt for your warm fall day.

To cheer me up, I made a trip to Sephora with my daughters to update my new make-up supplies. I hope you like my new makeup :)

Wearing: Forever21 tank top and sweatshirt, J Brand leather jeans, Viktor and Rolf booties, Bijules rings, Victorian vintage bracelet, and NastyGal bag.

Sorry For The Delay in Posting

Hi guys! I hope you’re doing well. Sorry for the lack of posting. I had a long journey in Vietnam to take care of both of my sick parents. It was the best I could do to be there with them and give them support, love, caring, and comfort.  I’m already back in the US with my girls and my family. My mom is doing better now, but my dad is on and off. We have tried everything for him and he has taken so many different Western and Eastern medicines, but in his case it is not a simple cure. He’s 89 years old, and I don’t know how much longer he’ll be with us. It is painful. I just talked to my mom this morning and he is NOT doing well. I understand that things are sometimes out of your control and we must leave things in God’s hands. My dad is a good man, has a big heart… Yes, he is a tough man.

You always learn something and gain valuable lessons in your life when you go through these things- happy or difficult times. I’ve learned. It’s difficult to resume my blog posts because my mind is with my parents and I worry about them. Last week, I tried to get myself together to have a photoshoot for the blog. But this morning, after hearing my dad is not doing well today, I’m feeling so so sad and off. I want you to understand what is happening to my blog and me.

THANK YOU everyone for your patience and understanding. I’ll try to resume my post regularly. Also, THANK YOU for your love and support! Wishing you days full of love, peace, health and happiness. Hanh

My dad and mom were 63 years ago when they just married.
